The first Dan grading within the club (according to the new British Taekwondo rules) was held on Saturday 30th September 2017, and we were proud to see the excellent standards of all the participants, some of whom are pictured above with their new club certificates. World Taekwondo certificates will follow as the paperwork is processed.
Congratulations to everyone who took part from PremierKi and other related clubs. With the changes to the British Taekwondo Dan Grading procedures, we will be holding our first Dan Grading (for students looking to grade 1st to 3rd Dan) on Saturday 30th September.
Just a reminder that there's no classes the morning of Saturday July 1st as we have a Kup grading taking place.
The first Kup grading for 2017 will be held on Monday 13rd March As usual, this will be by invitation only, so if you're hoping to grade this term, be sure to put the effort in during training. Students going for Green Tag and above must have the protective equipment for the grading exam. Only students reaching the required standard will be forward for the examination - invitations will be handed out or emailed 1-2 weeks before the grading date. Please note for this grading that registration will be on the day. British Taekwondo has now announced significant changes to the structure and process of Dan Grading (as Master Elias has been telling us they might).
Dan Gradings from 1st to 3rd Dan will now be enabled at Club level, led and examined by a panel with a 6th Dan Instructor and two 4th Dan Instructors as a minimum (Master Elias and Master Gemma are of course both 7th Dan). These club gradings will be supplemented by two National Dan Grading sessions led by British Taekwondo. Applications for 4th Dan and above will continue to be examined at the British Taekwondo National Dan Gradings. Full details are available from British Taekwondo. |
