A key element of any grading in TaeKwonDo is the performance of a
set pattern of moves, called poomse in
Korean, that allow the students to demonstrate their proficiency in
basic techniques performed in a particular sequence. The eight taeguek poomse are used in kup level gradings
(i.e. below black belt), progressing in difficulty.
